DISTRICT MISSION STATEMENT Early Adolescence is a time of transition. No other age encompasses such a unique range of intellectual, physical, ethical, emotional and social development. To address the special needs of young adolescents, we envision middle schools which: Provide ALL students access to a challenging comprehensive curriculum where all can succeed. Foster small learning environments that nurture relationships with peers, significant adults and the larger world. Provide a support network that promotes the development of physically and emotionally healthy lifestyles. Engage families and wider community to support the learning process. Establish a culture and climate of shared responsibility for on-going improvement and growth. Create a safe environment, which recognizes and respects the diversity of our school community. OUR SCHOOL VISION The staff of Edendale Middle School, EMS, recognizes that early adolescence is a time of transition. No other age encompasses such a unique range of intellectual, physical, ethical, emotional and social development. To address the special needs of young adolescents, the staff of EMS strives to provide: ALL students with a challenging comprehensive education ALL students a safe environment that fosters a love for learning.
