Login for the first time

Employee Responsible Use

The Governing Board recognizes that technological resources can enhance employee performance, engage learners, and increase student achievement by offering effective tools to assist in providing a quality instructional program, facilitating communications with parents/guardians, students. and the community, supporting District and school operations, and improving access to and exchange of information.  The Board expects all employees to learn to use the available technological resources that will assist them in the performance of their job responsibilities.  As needed, employees that receive professional development in the appropriate use of these resources. District Technology Purchases

Specs and Quotes

The Technology Integration Services and Purchasing Departments have collaborated to create an improved technology purchasing process to streamline the process of purchasing technology items, such as computing devices, carts, projectors, printers, etc.  All District users should follow the work flow below to request specs and quotes for standard and non-standard devices:Purchasing Low logo

  1. Sites submit the "Request for Specs" form online at https://goo.gl/aJS3fP The form includes specs and estimated prices for standard items to help prospective purchasers make initial decisions about quantities and budget implications.
  2. Technology Integration Services recommends/approves specs.
  3. Purchasing obtains quotes and sends it to the authorized requester listed on the form.
  4. The authorized requester at the site submits a purchase requisition through Escape and attaches the quote.
  5. Accounting checks the purchase req against designated budget codes.
  6. Once the req is approved by Accounting, Purchasing will issue the PO to vendor.
  7. Warehouse will deliver items to TIS for imaging/provisioning or to site, depending on the items purchased.

Microsoft Office 365 gives staff access to the web-based versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote using OneDrive. All staff and students have Google Apps for Education (GAFE) accounts.  So many apps are available to integrate technology to support Common Core content lessons, communication, online collaboration, increasing creativity, critical thinking and research skills for students.  Click here for GAFE Quick Start guide.

 

Email Tips and Guides

Access Outlook through Office 365 when you're outside of the District network http://portal.office.com.  Login to your Office 365 Account using your network login > choose Mail or Calendar.

For your convenience, forward your Gmail messages to your Outlook account.  Login to your Gmail account > choose settings > choose "Forwarding and POP" > add your Outlook email address > choose the forwarding option > save changes.

Software Installation Guides

If you're going to purchase software for your site, department, classroom, or individual district computer, please complete, print, and send in the Software Installation Request Form.  Please try to provide TIS Department with a minimum two-month notification.  It would be helpful to plan software installations during summer or school break.
