Letter from the Principal

The Royal Sunset Learning Community is designed for personal discovery and achievement. Our focus is success for all students who are willing to give it their best effort. We have exciting opportunies for every student ready to take full advantage of the fresh start that coming to Royal Sunset offers.

We believe there should be no limits placed on our students. Our teachers are committed to not only challenge but to support each student in their classes. All teachers have email and voicemail so that they are able to respond to questions in a timely manner.

The Community Youth Enrichment Program offers afternoon courses in leadership, art, yearbook, Hip Hop dance, and a wide range of self-improvement activities.

Research has clearly proven that good reading skills are the key to all academic achievement. To that end, we assess the reading ability of every student and prepare a systematic plan for students not reading at their grade levels. The goal is to improve their reading skills along with their range of literary experiences. All students will be provided with laptop computers and email accounts to facilitate their online learning opportunities.

There are computers in every classroom, two technology labs, class sets of laptop computers in most rooms and an expanded media center and library. Our school day offers flexibility so that students can take additional classes on campus or take advantage of the Eden Area Regional Occupations Program (ROP) and Chabot College classes.

Along with opportunity comes responsibility. The Royal Sunset Learning Community is a place where responsible young people get a second chance to not just survive, but to thrive.
