School Vision and Mission
Early adolescence is a time of transition. No other age encompasses such a unique range of intellectual, physical, ethical, emotional and social development. To address the special needs of young adolescents, we envision middle schools which:
Provide all students access to a challenging comprehensive curriculum where all can succeed
- Foster smaller learning environments which nurture relationships with peers, significant adults and the larger world
- Provide a network of support that promotes the development of physically and emotionally healthy lifestyles
- Engage families and the wider community to support the learning process
- Establish a culture and climate of shared responsibility for on-going improvement and growth
- Create a safe environment which recognizes and respects the diversity of our school community
WMMS students have access to extra-curricular and co-curricular programs. Sports, Student Leadership, clubs, performing arts and community service projects are open to all students. If additional help is needed in academics, students can attend Homework Club, Step-Up or seek support from teachers or classes designed to boost basic skills: success skills, success math, and reading.

The teaching staff is diverse in terms of age, cultural backgrounds, experience, and approaches to teaching. The WMMS staff is an extremely talented group of educators with a variety of interests, skills, and teaching philosophies that provide an array of exciting programs for students.
