Special Education

The San Lorenzo Unified School District provides a continuum of services for students with disabilities found eligible to receive special education.  The steps to identifying a student as eligible for special education services is a carefully managed process guided by State and Federal regulations. To receive special education services, a student must first be evaluated and meet state eligibility criteria.  Evaluations required to make this determination are completed only with parent permission.  Once qualified, an Individual Education Plan (IEP) is developed to address the needs of the student.  Special education programs and services are available to students and their families beginning at birth through age 22.
