Mission: Equity in the San Lorenzo Unified School district is acknowledging historical biases and changing the way they are addressed in terms of closing the achievement gap. We define our approach to the work of equity as providing for each student the academic, emotional and social supports needed to increase the achievement of underperforming subgroups at an accelerated rate while additionally increasing overall student performance.  

Our Goal: We are stiving to move all students in SLZUSD to new levels of achievement through five equity initiatives which include: (1) closing the academic achievement gap, (2) improving campus climate, (3) raising student consciousness, (4) raising adult developed cultural awareness of self and students, and (5) deep and meaningful parental involvement.
