Department Overview
The school buildings in San Lorenzo were built in the late 1940's and in the 1850's. These school buildings have severed generation of San Lorenz and San Leandro children and provided a gathering place for many community members
The San Lorenzo Unified School District provided an education program for preschoolers through adults, with nine elementary schools, three middle schools, three high schools and one adult school and one East Bay Arts school. The electorate of the San Lorenzo Unified School District passed Measure E Bond in November 2004. Measure E Bond provides $ 49 million for the modernization of nine elementary schools, three middle schools and three high schools. The Construction Management Department oversees the facilities construction bond and all capital improvement projects. Providing oversight of bond expenditures is the Independent Citizens' Oversight.
