Curated List of Online Sites

Many online sites/tools are available for teachers to engage students and enhance their lessons.  Here are some sites used by our colleagues throughout the district.  Please contact Alexis Meron, TSA-Secondary or Lori McCaughtry, TSA-Elementary Technology Integration Services to suggest a site.

Chrome Apps - Chrome apps are web-based applications that are accessed through the Chrome Browser. These Apps include typing tutors, voice recorders and links to popular educational websites used by teachers. Apps can be found in the Google Play for Education Store.

Using Video Resources in the classroom is a great way to engage students in their learning. There are many popular websites that have videos for use in the classroom.

Digital Citizenship - With access comes great responsibility - links to websites that support the teaching of digital citizenship in the classroom.

Interactive Instruction - This teaching strategy involves discussion and collaboration between students and provides immediate instructor feedback between the teacher and students. Students also develop the social skills necessary for collaboration and communication between themselves and their peers.

Teacher and Student Productivity

Infstu.pngographs and presentations are powerful tools to help teachers and students present information that convey their ideas in ways that capture their audiences' attention.  Sites, such as EMAZE and PREZI. are such online tools that can be used to present information in imaginative and engaging ways. Click HERE for a more extensive list of sites that can be used by teachers and students.

Learning Management Systems

Learning Management Systems below allow teachers to create, track, manage and distribute learning materials to their students. These systems also facilitate communication between teachers and their students.

Google Classroom - Classroom is designed to help teachers create, collect and grade assignments paperlessly. Announcements can be posed by teachers to the class 'stream' which can be commented on by students, allowing for two-way communication between the teacher and students. For more information see the Teacher Guide or Student Guide.

Schoology - Schoology is a learning management system for K-12 schools, that allows teachers to create, manage, and share content and resources with their students.

School Loop - School Loop is an online application that allows teachers to post assignments and grades for their classes. Elementary, middle and high school students can download assignments, view their grades online and communicate with their teachers.

Blocksi - Classroom management system for Chromebooks that allows teachers to view every Chromebook screen in the classroom collectively or individually.

Teachers can push an internet URL to every student and can deny access to specific or all internet resources in order to take assessments on Chromebooks without having to put these into kiosk mode.
