Project LEAN In

Project LEAN In Logo

Project LEAN In is San Lorenzo District's program for implementing 1:1 student:device ratio in classrooms to increase student engagement and achievement.  Successful teacher applicants are provided with a mini-lab, consisting of a class set of mobile devices in a secure charging cart, and professional development to help them fully utilize that devices for teaching and learning.  As of August 2017, there are 201 teachers participating in Cohorts 1, 2, 2.2, 3, 3.3, 4 and 4.4.

Many thanks to the Superintendent Brill, Board of Trustees, the LCAP Steering Committee, and all of you who advocated for technology!

Project LEAN In News

Applications for Cohort 5 of Project LEAN In are being accepted through April 30, 2018.
We anticipate at least thirty (30) teachers in grades TK-12 will be accepted in Cohort 5.  Teachers selected will be assigned a classroom charging cart of grade-appropriate devices and up to $1000 in extra hours for continuing Professional Development and Learning.

Please complete your application online at https://goo.gl/eHHJBz.   As long as you leave the Google Form tab open, you will be able to return to your form to edit it after you submit it until the application deadline.  The application consists mostly of open-ended questions, so you may choose to work on a separate word processing document and paste your answers into the online form.

Cohort 4.4.4  welcomed 18 teachers who have dedicated site-purchased carts to Project LEAN In!

Cohorts 1, 2, and 3 - District-purchased carts for teachers in Cohorts 1, 2, and 3 were refreshed over the summer.
Temporary “Amnesty”: TIS also replaced as many keys and screens as we could and absorbed the cost.  Moving forward students and their families should be charged for misuse/vandalism: $50 replacement of screens due to misuse, $50 replacement of keyboards. We do not have the budget for replacing your devices until we are 1:1 across the District, so please monitor student use.  Blocksi can monitor student activity, but not damage to the device.  Please keep students accountable by assigning them to the same device every day.

Changes to Enrollment or Relocating Sites?

Our Technology Integration Services team is here to ensure active Project LEAN In (PLI) teachers have the necessary devices, equipment, and support so their students are online and learning.

Enrollment Adjustment: Throughout the school year classroom sizes ebb and flow.  If you need an additional device for a new student in your classroom, please use the Google Form to provide us with information to provision and deliver the device for installation in your charging cart. https://goo.gl/NtxyAo

PLI Teacher Relocating:  If you are relocating to a new site or leaving the District, please submit a HelpSTAR request to begin the process.  Your teacher district-issued laptop, Chromebook and cart key, and other device(s) must be returned/check-in in the Technology Integration Service Department.
