San Lorenzo Unified School District Appoints Superintendent Daryl Camp

Following an extensive search, which brought an excellent field of 26 highly qualified candidates, the Board of Education of the San Lorenzo Unified School District have unanimously approved Daryl Camp, Ed.D. as the Superintendent for San Lorenzo Unified School District at the April 2, 2019 Regular Board Meeting, effective July 1, 2019.


Dr. Camp has served as Superintendent of Riverbank Unified School District since 2012. Under his leadership, Riverbank USD student learning continues to improve and opportunities for students have expanded. Dr. Camp is a proven community builder as reflected by his intentional outreach strategies designed to create authentic opportunities for involvement by all stakeholders. His leadership style is collaborative and he has been successful working with diverse student and community populations.


Dr. Camp is a graduate of Morehouse College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 1991. He graduated with a master’s degree from California State University, Hayward in 2001 and later earned a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from California State University, Sacramento in 2011.


Dr. Camp is active in advocating for all students. He received the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Valuing Diversity award for is work in Region VII. He served as ACSA Region VII president and is currently a member of the ACSA State Board. In addition, Dr. Camp serves as President-Elect on the California Association of African American School Administrators.


The Board of Education is confident that Dr. Camp will help our district address the needs of our diverse student population and help students achieve their learning goals. We also look forward to his efforts in building trust and collaboration with staff and families to lead us forward as we adapt our district to 21st century educational practices.
