Registration for Students Continuing in the District (2018-19)

If you attended a school in San Lorenzo Unified School District in June 2018, you're a continuing student. This includes:

- fifth graders who are starting middle school in August,
- eighth graders who are starting high school in August, and of course,
- any student continuing for another year at the same school.

Parent-guardians will need to complete the Data Confirmation process every year for each student. Online registration using the Aeries Family Portal saves time and gets students in the system much more quickly. Parent-guardians also have the paper-only option.

Log in to Aeries Parent Portal

Step 1: Online Directions

Login to the Aeries Parent Portal, between August 1-September 30, using your email on record and the password that was provided to you. (If you did not receive email, go to the login page and click "forgot password.")

  1. Update and verify information in steps 1-3 information.
  2. Download and read the September packet information in step 4 (or download them from this page ahead of time). Print and sign the Signature Form.  Bring to onsite registration.
  3. Give permissions and authorizations in step 5.
  4. Submit final confirmation in step 6.
  5. (optional) Select another student to repeat the process for other children in your family.

Step 2: Onsite Registration

Attend your child's onsite registration event and bring the Signature Form (extra forms are available onsite) and any requested forms of verification.

Onsite Only Registration Option (Paper Only - Deferred Manual Input)

Step 1: Pickup Paper Packets

Families that prefer to continue to register using paper forms can pick them up at the school site during the onsite registration period and complete one packet per student.

Packets can also be downloaded (see Registration Documents below), printed and completed. 

Step 2: Onsite Registration

Turn your packet in to the office during onsite registration (see dates below), along with any requested forms of verification.

 

Caveat: Please be advised that onsite only registration will take longer, and student information will not be updated until clerical staff can complete the process.

Welcome!!!

Use AIR to enroll students who will be new to the District (or left the District and need to enroll again). You will need to continue the registration process at the school after they contact you.

Aeries Family Portal General Information

San Lorenzo USD uses the Aeries Student Information System (SIS).  Each stakeholder group accesses Aeries with appropriate rights through a specific portal to meet their needs. 

  • Families (students and parent-guardians) can access Aeries data through the website https://parentportal.slzusd.k12.ca.us or by downloading the Aeries app on their SmartPhone.  It is their one-stop-shop for attendance and grades.  In August, parent-guardians should complete data confirmation (online portion of registration) through the Aeries Parent Portal.
  • Teachers access Aeries through the online Aeries Teacher Portal to take attendance and enter report card grades. (2017-18 is a transition year, and most teachers will also use the Teacher Portal to access the Aeries Gradebook.)
  • Administrators access Aeries through Aeries.net within the District network.
 

Logging In

Log in to the Aeries Family Portal throughout the year to stay on top of grades, attendance, emergency contacts, authorizations, and registration:

  • Grades – Check progress reports and end of term grades any time.  If your teacher is using the Aeries Gradebook, you will find grades for assignments. (website or app)
  • Attendance – You can find out the moment your student is marked tardy or absent. (website or app)
  • Emergency Contacts and Authorizations – Notify your school when emergency contact information changes so the right people can pick up your child. (website only)
  • Registration –Use the portal every August for the online portion of registration.  It will really speed up the process for the onsite portion of registration for your student as they continue in the District. (website only)
 
On a computer...
Launch any browser and log in at FamilyPortal.slzusd.k12.ca.us. Use your email address in Aeries as your username.  Enter your password.

 

On a SmartPhone or Tablet

Install the app on your phone by going to the Play Store (Android) or Apps (iPhone), search for "Aeries", and look for San Lorenzo USD. Your Aeries Family Portal login works on the app and on the website. As seen in Peachjar: "You've Got Mail: How to Support Your Student through Email"

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions about registration through the new Aeries Parent Portal.

No Aeries Account? No Email Account? Email Not Registered with School?

Aeries Family Portal accounts are created automatically when your site enters your email address into the Aeries Student Information System.

After Aeries generates the account, you will receive an email with your temporary password.

If you're using a computer, go to https://parentportal.slzusd.k12.ca.us and login with your email address and temporary password.  You can also download the Aeries app and login with your email address and temporary password.

 

 

Students in middle and high school received Aeries Family Portal account information through Gmail.

 

We can only provide these services to you if we have your email address on file. Your email address will only be used for school business and will not be sold to marketers. If you do not currently have an email address, we encourage you to create an account. 

 

 

All families that had email addresses on file in the Aeries Student Information System received an email with their account information. 

If you have not shared your email address with your child’s school(s), please do so by using this short form.

No Computer...No Problem

If you forgot your password or cannot locate the email, go to https://parentportal.slzusd.k12.ca.us.  Login with the email address you think is on file and choose the "Forgot password" option to reset the password.

If your email is not found in the system, use the Email Form above and give your school time to enter it into Aeries.

The District plans to have a fully-Spanish Aeries Parent Portal soon.

In this pilot year, parent-guardians can select the language in which the directions will be given.  All documents will only be available in English and Spanish for now.

From the top right corner of the login screen, choose the drop down menu to change the language.

 

Each school site has computers available for parent-guardian use in the office.

 

Most schools will have a cart of Chromebooks available during onsite registration day. No login is needed.
