SLZUSD Board Chooses Juan Campos as 2026-27 President

Jan. 1, 2026

The San Lorenzo Unified School District Board of Education unanimously appointed Trustee Juan Campos as Board president for 2026 at its regular meeting on Dec. 16. Trustee Kyla Sinegal, who has been this past year’s president, was chosen as vice president/clerk.

The selections were made as part of an annual reorganization that also includes appointments to boards, committees and councils within the district and with community partners.

This will be the first term as president for Campos, who joined the Board in 2018 when he was appointed to fill a vacant seat and was elected in 2022 to a four-year term. He is employed as a youth advocate and has children at Bay Elementary and Bohannon middle schools.

In addition to serving as Board president, he will serve as president of the board for the Eden Area Regional Occupational Program, where he was a board member from 2020-23 and again since 2024. He was vice president/clerk of the SLZUSD Board in 2023 and 2025.

As president, Campos will preside over Board meetings starting Jan. 20, and he will join with Sinegal in meetings with Superintendent Dr. Daryl Camp to set Board agendas.

Following his appointment, Campos thanked the four other trustees for their support and trust. “I will try my best to make this Board and our community proud,” he said. “I know it’s not an easy task. When I do something I want to do it 100%. Thank for you this opportunity. Thank you for believing in me.”
