Interim Superintendent Update

Hello,

On behalf of the whole Board, I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the District’s progress in securing a new superintendent.  As I reported publicly at the Board Meeting on Tuesday, while we thought we had secured someone who could step in and keep the good work of the District moving forward, the external candidate had to regrettably withdraw at the last minute due to personal reasons.  This was certainly a frustrating development, however, we are continuing our search and are confident that we will have the right person in place shortly.

While our search continues, we have arranged for day to day operations to be covered by our three Assistant Superintendents, Barb DeBarger, Madeline Gabel and Belen Magers, in a coordinated plan of action.  While none of them will take on the official title of interim superintendent, in close collaboration with the Board, they will jointly ensure that all necessary tasks and functions of the office will continue to be fulfilled.

That said, the Board is moving forward to schedule search firm interviews as soon as possible in order to accelerate our pursuit of the next permanent leader for our District.  To that end, I encourage everyone in our community to provide your voice and feedback in this process so that we can obtain the strongest and most capable and compassionate leader who can assist us in our mission to ensure lifelong learning by advancing authentic knowledge, skills and attributes that ensure our students are creative and critical thinkers, ready to fully participate in our changing community and world.

If you have any questions in the interim, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the Assistant Superintendents, directly.

Best,

Janet
