Benefits of Early College Programs

Early College Programs give students a head start on their future by combining high school or adult education with college opportunities. Through these programs you can:
  • Earn college credit early - Get a jump start on college while completing high school or adult school.
  • Save time and money - earn credits toward a degree while reducing the time and cost of completing college. 
  • Explore careers and areas of study - Discover your interests and gain exposure to different career paths and fields of study. 
  • Build college-ready skills - Learn how to navigate the college environment, develop academic confidence, and prepare for your next steps. 

Types of Dual Enrollment 

Dual Enrollment gives students the opportunity to earn college credit while completing high school. All Dual Enrollment courses are taught by Chabot College instructors.
 
CCAP Dual Enrollment
CCAP Dual Enrollment courses are designed exclusively for SLzUSD students and are offered on your high school campus. 
  • Location: High school campus.
  • Cost: Free, including required books and supplies.
  • Course Options: 2-4 courses are offered each semester for SLzUSD students.
  • Recommended For: Students who are new to Early College/Dual Enrollment, as well as students who cannot travel to Chabot College or prefer taking classes in person on their high school campus. 
 
Individual Dual Enrollment
Individual Dual Enrollment allows students to enroll directly in Chabot College courses and learn alongside other college students. Courses are available in person at Chabot College or virtually. 
  • Location: Chabot College or online. 
  • Cost: Tuition-free, students are responsible for textbooks, when applicable, and any required supplies.  
  • Course Options: Most Chabot College courses are available, except PE and basic skills courses. Some courses require prerequisites that must be completed first. 
  • Recommended For: Independent students who are ready to take college courses alongside college students and manage the responsibilities of a college class.

How to Sign Up for SLzUSD CCAP Dual Enrollment 

Ready to get started with Dual Enrollment? Follow these simple steps to apply and enroll in a CCAP Dual Enrollment course. 
 
Step 1: Submit an Interest Form 
Let us know you're interested in participating in CCAP Dual Enrollment by completing the Interest Form.
 
Step 2: Apply to Chabot College
Submit a Chabot College Admissions Application for Summer 2026 or Fall 2026.

Step 3: Create Your DualEnroll Account
Go to DualEnroll and create your account. Complete all required information and make sure your information is accurate. 
 
Step 4: Select Your Courses & Get Approvals
Once your account is set up:
  • Select your CCAP Dual Enrollment course
  • Obtain the required parent/guardian signature
  • Obtain your school counselor's signature through DualEnroll
